About this resource

What gestational diabetes is, how a test in pregnancy finds it, and how to keep mum and bub strong. Watch in English or Nyangumarta.

What gestational diabetes is and how it can affect mum and baby. It's high blood sugar that can happen during pregnancy, often with no signs, so a test in pregnancy is how it's found. The animation explains how good food, staying active, checking sugar levels and sometimes medicine keep mum and bub strong. It usually goes away after the birth but raises the chance of type 2 diabetes later, so regular check-ups matter.
