About this resource

How the flu spreads and why a yearly flu vaccine, free for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, protects you and your family.

Flu is not just a bad cold. It can get serious quickly, especially for Elders, little kids, pregnant women and people with health conditions. This animation explains how flu spreads from person to person and why a flu vaccine every year helps protect you, your family and your community. The vaccine is updated each year, is safe, and can't give you the flu. A sore arm for a day or two is normal. The flu vaccine is free for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people from six months of age.
