About this resource

Why bowel cancer screening matters, how to do the free home test kit in four steps, and which signs mean you should see the clinic now.

Why bowel cancer screening matters and how the free home test works. Eligible people are posted a screening kit, and health workers can hand them out too. The animation walks through the four simple steps: put in the liner, go to the toilet as normal, take the samples, and post them back. Results come by letter. It also explains that some signs, like blood in your poo, changes in toilet habits, stomach pain, tiredness or weight loss, mean you should see the clinic straight away rather than wait for a kit.
